Nigeria’s flag is a 1:2 vertical triband of three equal panels: green at the hoist, white in the center, and green at the fly.
Specification
The rectangular field is twice as long as it is high and is divided into three equal vertical panels. The two outer panels are green and the center panel is white; the national flag carries no charge or emblem.

Each panel occupies exactly one third of the fly. The design therefore scales without a separate device grid, but preserving the 1:2 overall ratio is necessary: a 2:3 version changes the intended relationship between panel width and flag height.
Historical record
Michael Taiwo Akinkunmi submitted the winning design during preparations for independence. His proposal included a red quarter-sun in the white panel; the selection committee removed that device, leaving the green-white-green design first raised when Nigeria became independent on 1 October 1960.
