The flag’s height is two-thirds of its length. Dark green occupies two-fifths of the length and scarlet the remaining three-fifths. A yellow armillary sphere, bearing the national shield, is centered on the dividing line; the sphere’s diameter equals half the flag’s height.

Start with a 2:3 rectangle and place the vertical division at two-fifths of its length from the hoist. Center the armillary sphere on that line and midway between the upper and lower edges. The shield sits vertically centered over the sphere; its detailed castles, escutcheons, and bezants should be taken from an authoritative vector rather than redrawn as generic symbols.
Historical record
After the Republic was established on 5 October 1910, a commission prepared new national symbols. The government approved the design on 29 November 1910. The National Constituent Assembly ratified the flag on 19 June 1911, and detailed construction regulations followed on 30 June.
